Interesting - And I agree that its all a game of numbers. Imagine if mobilink DID have 60 million customers and each of those customers transcats even just One single rupee.. THat makes for 60 MILLION rupees worth of transactions! So anyone who thinks that MCommerce STILL needs some time before people will believe its worth and value, needs to think of examples like these.

On another note, I am quite glad that in the interviews and the program, you don't focus on just one company and let them just talk about themselves. It always makes it easier to watch a show if it isn't engaging in cheap marketing tactics. A sincere thank you!

Doesn't MCommerce open up many opportunities for developers to develop software applications for the mobile platform? I'm sure its already there, but if you're talking about integrating Mobile Commerce with every aspect of our everyday lives, then software developers and development companies wil need to be a little more proactive than they are. Perhaps outsourcing is not what our strength is - perhaps it is developing for all the opportunieties that are being created IN the country.

Great topic - Keep it up!

Mobile Commerce I understand - what about the security aspect? What is to stop someone from getting you to make purchases by force? Any safeguarding measures the companies can give?

Mobile theft or snatching is so common - what's the safety?

I agree with the previous comment. This report seems to put Pakistan in quite a bad light.. I realize there are lots of issues such as bureacracy amongst other issues, but can we really have fallen down WORSE than before? Seems unlikely.

As for the rest of the show, I didn't realize that Mobile Commerce was actually being used in Pakistan to even the extent that you have shown, and I was pleased to be able to learn about the progress. I look forward to watching next week's episode to find out more about it. Thanks again.

The epsiode today was interesting. I didn't realize that with all the fuss that we are trying to create in terms of telecom readiness, that we are still so far behind in the World Economic Forum report that Amir Matin talked about. Can that really be? Pick up any newspaper of any day, take a walk in any vicinity in any part of Pakistan and I doubt you'll find more than 10 metres that don't have telecom realestate plastered on them.

The billions and billions of dollars of investment that are being put in by the private companies, what is the PTA and other government departments doing to promote and spread the awareness? I am quite surprised.

HOw do agencies like the WEForum get their data? Any ideas?
